Volleyball tournament to raise funds
for Special Friends

A Laramie County Community College business class will sponsor a volleyball tournament on Saturday, April 18, to raise funds for Special Friends.

Students in Jeri Griego’s “Principles of Management” class have organized the tournament for the nonprofit organization that recruits volunteers to help mentor youth.

Sign-in begins at 8 a.m. in the LCCC multipurpose room. Early registration for a team of six or more, which can be coed, is $100; after April 16, registration will be $150. Youth teams (all from ages 11 to 15) may register for $50.

Special Friends, a volunteer program of Youth Alternatives, is a nonprofit organization that recruits volunteers to help mentor youth ages 6 to 14. Mentors encourage positive choices, help promote high self-esteem, support academic achievement and introduce youth to new ideas.

To obtain registration packets, contact Special Friends, 1328 Talbot Court, Cheyenne. For information, call Dawn Dudley at 307-220-2898.
