LCCC men's rodeo rangles third

Team ropes 373.33 points

The Laramie County Community College rodeo team competed in a recent rodeo at Eastern Wyoming College from March 4-6. The men’s team earned third place overall with a total of 373.33 points; the women’s overall team score has not been posted.

In the saddle bronc riding event, Justin Dory earned sixth place. In the bareback riding event, Chance Englebert earned fifth place. In the tie-down roping event, Blayne Bradley earned fifth place and Tate Mathis earned ninth place. In the steer wrestling event, Dustin Dailey earned fourth place, Cameron Fanning earned seventh place, and Kalane Anders earned 10th place. The team roping heelers represented the college well as Trey Yates earned first place and Tayler Tarver earned eighth place. The barrel racers performed at a high level as Mariah Miller earned first place and Jorry Lammers earned third place.

The LCCC rodeo team also attended the rodeo at Gillette College from March 18-20. The men’s team earned third place with a total of 445 points. The women’s team earned fourth place with a total of 170 points.

Mathis earned second place and Englebert earned fourth place in the men’s all-around standings. In the saddle bronc riding event, Dory made improvements as he earned second place. In the bareback riding event, Englebert also made improvements as he earned third place. In the bull riding event, Englebert earned fourth place. In the tie-down roping event, Mathis made improvements as he earned fourth place. The team roping heelers performed well as Mathis earned second place, Jayden Johnson earned third place and Yates earned sixth place. LCCC’s barrel racers earned the top spots as Linzee Adamson took first place and Lammers earned second place. The rodeo team is back in action April 8-10 at Colorado State University, and April 15-17 at Casper College.
