Western equestrian ride to semifinals

On March 29, the Laramie County Community College Western equestrian team sent three riders to the semifinals in Findlay, Ohio.

At the semifinals for western equestrian, there were two rounds. The first round, or preliminary class, took the top eight for the final class. To make it to nationals, the riders must finish in the top four of the final class.

Sophomores Kelsey Jenkins and Jessie Johnson competed in advanced horsemanship and intermediate horsemanship. They both finished ninth in their preliminary class.

Sophomore Kailey Kaufmann competed in the beginner horsemanship class and made it to the final class.  Finishing fifth, she barely missed a bid to nationals, which will be held in Harrisburg, Penn. May 1–4.
