Golden Eagles break winning streak

The Laramie County Community College took a four-game winning streak into Goodland, Kansas, Feb. 7., but after playing a low-scoring, tight first half against Northwest Kansas Technical College, the Mavericks pulled away in the second half, beating the Golden Eagles 52-64.

The Golden Eagles fell to 19-7 on the season in the loss. The NKTC is 17-9 on the season and has won its last five games. The loss was a nonconference game.

Complete statistics on the road game were not yet available. The Golden Eagles are on the road again Feb. 11 against the 11-14 Trinidad State Junior College Trojans. The Trojans are 5-8 in Region IX South. The Golden Eagles last played the Trojans in a high-scoring, 97-90 win Jan. 10, in which three LCCC players scored more than 20 points.
