Eagles edge Lamar
with victory

The Golden Eagles won a nail-biter against Lamar Community College (5-16, 3-6 Region IX South) Jan. 24 in Cheyenne 75-74.

Laramie County Community College had four players score in the double-digits with guard Spencer Svejcar leading the Eagles with 20.

While LCCC was out rebounded 43-34, the Eagles shot 49 percent from the field, while the Lamar Antelopes shot only 46.9 percent.

LCCC guard Darien Fernandez forced six turnovers in the game and scored 14 points. Forward Kamari Robinson scored 16 points and took down six rebounds for the Eagles.

LCCC (16-6, 4-1 Region IX South) will be in action at 7 p.m. Jan. 28 against Eastern Wyoming College in Cheyenne. EWC (7-14, 1-9 Region IX South) is led by Kalil Potts, who is averaging 15.8 points for the Lancers.
