The Laramie County Community College men's basketball team started 2012 with a win against Sheridan College. The Eagles beat the Generals 62—49 at home on Jan. 7.

Although Sheridan scored the game's first points, LCCC got on the board quickly, and the game was tightly contested. Sheridan started the season 12-1, winning the first 12 games, but LCCC's strong defense forced 25 turnovers and dealt the Generals its second loss of the season.

Despite leaving the game early, Philip Freeman led both teams with 21 points.

The Eagles travel to Colorado Springs, Colo., to play the Air Force Academy Prep Squad at 7 p.m. on Jan. 10.
