Laramie County Community College’s men’s basketball is on a three-game losing streak since beating Otero Junior College on Feb. 6. Lamar beat LCCC 73-71 on Feb. 17 for a second time this season, giving Lamar the number two seed in the conference.

LCCC’s Gavin Peppers scored 13 points in the loss to Lamar. Josh McNair totaled 11 points, Iziah Sherman-Newsome had 9 and Jerry Luckett scored 8. Two of Lamar’s players scored in double digits: Chris Lewis scored 23 total points. John Dunmyer totaled 15 points.

The Golden Eagles are averaging 81.2 points-per-game, shooting 44.1 percent from the field, 33.8 percent on 3-pointers and 66.3 percent on free-throws.

The three consecutive losses against North Platte, McCook and Lamar Community College dropped the Golden Eagles from second in the conference. Two of the three games were lost by a difference of 2 points.
