Women's soccer sweeps Western Nebraska Community College
for third straight Region IX title

The Laramie County Community College Golden Eagles' women's soccer team overpowered Western Nebraska Community College for the Region IX title Oct. 22, winning 3–0.

Monica Lubin, Flor Veronica and Delyaliz Rosario all scored for LCCC, with assists by Junko Honda, Veronica and Vanessa Alexander.

Earlier on Oct. 21, the Golden Eagles defeated the Western Wyoming Community College Mustangs 4–1 in Rock Springs. This was the semifinal game for the women's soccer Region IX. Lubin, Shino Kunisawa, Jezmine Lora and Rosario all scored for the Golden Eagles. The assists were by Lauren Horst, Lora and Kunisawa. The Golden Eagles didn't find the back of the net until the 57th minute of the game but went on a streak, scoring three more goals.

The women's overall record now is 14–4–2. They are scheduled to play in Kansas Nov. 4–6 in the District B tournament.

The Laramie County Community College Golden Eagles women's soccer team lost to Northwest Community College 1–0 on the trapper's home field on Oct. 12. LCCC had 8 shots on goal while Northwest had 9. The Golden Eagles held off the trappers until the 71st when the trappers scored their first and only goal.

The Golden Eagles lost to the No. 7 ranked North Idaho College 2–0 at home on Oct. 14. The Golden Eagles had 17 total shots to North Idaho's 15. The Cardinals scored quickly in the 9th minute of the game and then again in the 51st minute of the game.
