Men's soccer continues to shine

The Laramie County Community College men’s soccer team dominated Northeastern Junior College 8-0 Oct. 16, sealing the team’s fourth consecutive win at home.

In a game that was supposed to have been played more than a week earlier, but delayed because of snow, the Golden Eagles came out with a will to win, and their offense lit up the opposition like no other game this season.

Jesse Molina put LCCC on the board early and was followed several minutes later with a goal from Gleydson Neri, which gave the team a 2-0 lead heading into halftime.

The second half saw the offense explode. Tyler Mangel scored a hat-trick, and the Golden Eagles also saw offense come from Wyatt Witty and Vitor Nazareth, who scored twice. Northeastern was able to manage only three of seven shots on goal, while LCCC fired a barrage of 51 shots, 23 of them on goal.

The Golden Eagles are 9-0-1 in Region IX play and 11-3-1 on the season. They will play their next game at LCCC on Friday, Oct. 19, at 1:30 p.m. against Otero Junior College.
