Volleyball team takes loss as learning incentive for tournament

After coming within a point of sweeping the Oct. 16 matchup against Casper College, the Laramie County Community College women’s volleyball team fell two sets to three.

After winning the first two sets, the Eagles were looking to finish the third in similar fashion to win the game; however, the Thunderbirds turned the tables and took the match by winning sets three through five.

Following the loss, Head Coach Darren Buckner said the Eagles could take plenty of good play from the game with two weeks until the regional tournament. He also said he believed it was beginning to look as if the two could face off again in the first round of tournament play.

Buckner said the loss gave them extra motivation, and winning the first two sets gave them confidence they could use to beat the Thunderbirds. The Eagles will head to Northwest College Oct. 19 and look to even the regular season series after being swept at home.
