Sophomores shine in last match of regular season

The Laramie County Community College women’s volleyball team finished its regular season schedule on a high note Oct. 23, defeating Eastern Wyoming Community College three sets to one.

From the start, the sophomores of LCCC came out red hot on their special night and easily took the first two sets before Eastern Wyoming could take a second glance. After losing the third set following the short break, the Eagles were quickly able to recover and end the match, avoiding a third five-set match in the past week.

Following the win, head coach Darren Buckner said the Eagles were tripped up by some third-set setups by Eastern Wyoming, but the team recovered nicely to finish the night.

In their final match of the regular season Oct. 25 against U.S. Air Force Prep, the Eagles plan to switch some players around in order to build some depth for the upcoming regional tournament, which will be held Oct. 31–Nov. 3 in Powell.
