SGA 'meeting' is non-starter

The Student Government Association senators met on Oct. 21, but they never called the meeting to order.

SGA meetings are supposed to be called to order at 12:15 p.m. Instead, at about 12:20 p.m., the members went outside to take pictures of themselves in their new SGA polos for their Facebook page. This lasted approximately 20 minutes.

Afterward, the members spent another seven minutes filling out biography sheets.

At 12:47 p.m., 32 minutes after the meeting was scheduled to start, Adviser Danielle Salisbury decided it was time to get down to business. She lectured the group over the same items she has been for weeks: Sign up for volunteer work; check the email, and seek student input.

In-between side conversations, the group was asked whether they wanted to cook for the Chili Cook-Off Nov. 20.

The meeting was never called to order; minutes were not taken, and members left the meeting room around 1 p.m.
