Men's aspiration tripped for nationals

Laramie County Community College’s men’s soccer team’s season is over with a quarterfinal loss on Oct. 25.

Down in La Junta, Colorado, LCCC took on Otero Junior College (10-5-1, 8-4-1) Oct. 25 in a Region IX quarterfinal match. Otero came out strong, scoring three goals in a row until LCCC’s Chance Wiedrich scored a goal in the 60th minute. That goal was not enough, however, as Otero made one more goal in the second half and eventually won 4-1.

Otero is the same opponent from last season that tripped up the Eagles’ efforts to get to the national tournament, but that match was in the finals of the Region IX tournament.

LCCC finished the season with an overall record of 9-8-1 and a conference record of 4-4.
