Volleyball won its first game in the Region
IX tournament

On Wednesday Nov. 2, the Golden Eagles volleyball team defeated Central Wyoming College 25-20, 22-25, 25-12 and 25-22 in the first game of the week in the region IX North tournament in Riverton.

Freshmen Madi Taylor and Carlee Morrison both helped propel the Golden Eagles to victory with Taylor scoring 16 kills and Morrison adding 14. Morrison also helped the Golden Eagles with 11 digs and freshman Kyra Brandt chipped in with 34 assists and 15 digs, while adding two service aces. Brandt made a school-record 42 service aces on the year. Freshman Elizabeth Clark also helped the Golden Eagles with 13 kills and three blocks, while sophomore Preston Lienemann added 12 digs and eight kills.

The Golden Eagles next game in the Region IX tournament is at 6 p.m. on Thursday, Nov. 3, against Sheridan College.
