LCCC Volleyball drops final two games of
regular season

The No. 17 ranked Laramie County Community College volleyball team is now 24-8 overall on the season after losing at Northwest College on Friday, Oct. 28, and also losing against Sheridan college on Saturday, Oct. 29.

LCCC secured the No. 2 seed for the Region IX North Tournament after Northwest College defeated the Golden Eagles on Friday evening. The Golden Eagles lost in 4 sets, 25-23, 23-25, 13-25 and 22-25. Sophomore libero Tori Passarelli led the Golden Eagles in digs with 18, while freshman Carlee Morrison tallied 10 digs and sophomore Preston Lienemann had eight. Freshman Kyra Brandt led the Golden Eagles in assists with 16 while sophomore setter Makenzie DiGesualdo had 13. Morrision had eight kills while freshman Madi Taylor had seven. Both Lienemann and freshman blocker Lindsay Vanderwood had six kills each.

On Saturday afternoon, the Golden Eagles lost their last conference game against Sheridan College, 25-22, 14-25, 24-26, 26-14 and 11-15. Passarelli led the Golden Eagles in digs with 42 while Morrison had 22 and Brandt 11. Brandt led the Golden Eagles in assists with 30 while DiGesualdo added 17. Freshman blocker Elizabeth Clark had 14 kills while Morrison had 13.

The Golden Eagles will begin regional tournament play on Wednesday night. No. 2 LCCC will square off against No. 7 Central Wyoming at 6 p.m. at Riverton. The tournament is hosted at Central Wyoming College.
