Men's soccer team defeats No. 1 Barton County

The Golden Eagles’ men’s soccer team upset the No. 1-ranked team in the nation, Barton County Community College, Sept. 25 by winning 3-2.

It was a close game, but the Golden Eagles pulled ahead in the 53rd minute. Dino Soto, Alfonso Perea and Peterson Neri all had one goal, with two assists from Spencer Gray.

On Friday, Sept. 23, the Golden Eagles’ men’s soccer team beat Northwest College 2-1. The two goals for the Eagles were made my Perea and Jorge Arenas, with assists by Soto and Perea.

Luis Gonzalez received a red card during the game, leaving the Golden Eagles short one player; however, the Golden Eagles were still able to pull out a win.

The men’s soccer team lost 1–0 to Otero Junior College Saturday, Sept. 17. This was LCCC’s first loss this season.

Otero was ranked No. 14 in the nation at the time.

The Golden Eagles’ record now is 7-1-1.
