The Laramie County Community College rodeo team is gaining momentum with a strong performance by the women and improvement by the men at the Central Wyoming College Rodeo held Sept. 16-18.

Jesse Pichler and Raelynn Keller placed second and fourth, respectively, in the short round for barrel racing. Freshman Shana Lyons debuted in the short round of goat tying, placing fourth.

Meanwhile on the men’s side, Cole Thoreson and Loncey Johnson qualified for the short round in saddle bronc riding. Thoreson earned a fourth-place finish.

Coach David Browder said despite a slow start to the season, the team is becoming more confident, and he expected more improvement Sept. 23–25 at the Sheridan College rodeo.
