Volleyball team crushes opponents

Ready for the kill

Student Kiley Ridgway is going for a kill against the Thunderbirds.

The Golden Eagles volleyball team crushed its opponents this weekend winning all three sets in each game against the Eastern Wyoming College Lancers and the Casper College Thunderbirds at LCCC. On Friday, Sept. 25, the first set was neck and neck until the final two points when the Golden Eagles took the lead and won 26-24 against the Lancers. The Eagles won the second set 25-21 and the third set 25-15.

Versus the Thunderbirds on Saturday, Sept. 26, the Golden Eagles would not give up its winning streak. The Golden Eagles won the first set 25-22, the second set 25-22, and the third 25-17. With the second straight sweep of the weekend, LCCC has now won 12 in a row and all its home games.

The Eagles will next play at 7 p.m., Oct. 2 against Central Wyoming College in Riverton. The Eagles average at 13.08 kills a set, ranking them fifth in the nation among Division I junior colleges.
