Men's soccer rules over Westminster University's JV team


Laramie County Community College men’s soccer got its season back on track this weekend with a win over Westminster University’s junior varsity team with a 4-1 score. The game, played on Sept. 8 in Salt Lake City, Utah, saw the Eagles’ come back with a win after a three game losing streak.

The LCCC team saw a lead come early off a goal from Peterson Neri, which was assisted by his brother Gleydson. The Neri brothers again hooked up for two more goals, this time assisted by Peterson Neri, to his brother. The Westminster team’s offense only got one goal against the LCCC team half way through the game. This was followed by a late goal in the game by Jesse Molina, which pushed the score to 4-1 in favor of the LCCC team. The Eagles’ defense stifled the opposing offense, holding Westminsters’ to only two shots in the game, while the LCCC team had eleven shots on goal in total.

The game brought LCCC’s record to 2-3 on the season. They will head to Rock Springs, Wyo, on Sept. 14 to play against the Western Wyoming Community College.
