Women's soccer ends scrimmage season with loss

The Laramie County Community College women’s soccer team saw its final preseason scrimmage come to an end on Aug. 25 after a 2–1 loss to Montana State University-Billings.

Francisca Mardones tied the game at one a piece, scoring the lone goal for the Golden Eagles with 34 minutes remaining in the second half. The Eagles were well-tested, and Head Coach Jim Gardner said although they had lost to a division II school, he was happy with the effort.

Gardner said he believed the team was beginning to gel after starting the preseason with just five returning players.

Next up, the sixth-ranked Golden Eagles will host fourth-ranked Butler Community College Sunday, Sept. 2, at 5:30 p.m. on the LCCC field.
