SGA reschedules elections

Laramie County Community College’s Student Government Association’s meeting Sept. 16 reviewed and voted upon proposals for upcoming events.

On Oct. 27, a Halloween-themed blood drive will take place sponsored by the United Blood Donors. The members encourage students to stop by and have their blood sucked.

During homecoming week in October a map will be placed to display where fellow classmates are from. Students can grab a sticky tab, write their name, and place it on their hometown. This will be accompanied by an ice cream social. After the event, the map will be on display for the rest of the year in the student lounge.

Elections have been scheduled to take place on Tuesday, Sept. 23, from 8 a.m.-5 p.m. in the student lounge. Candidates will be available from 11:30 a.m.-1:30 p.m. on Monday, Sept. 22, to answer questions. Pizza will be given to voters. The elections committee is still taking applications for candidacy. Fliers have been distributed across campus for more information.

Homecoming week is coming up early in October. Special events will take place every day such as spirit day, eating contests, a pep rally, a dance and more. Prizes will be given out for the events. The dance will be Halloween-themed, and a prize for best costume will be awarded.

The minutes for each SGA meeting will soon be available online for viewing. They will be posted shortly after approval.

The budget for SGA is $4,000 for the year. The money will be divided equally among the four committees.
