Soccer gets in win column

Laramie County Community College’s men soccer team picked up its first two wins during the weekend of Sept. 12-13, to improve to 2-3.

A 6-1 blowout win on Sept. 12 over Northeastern Junior College (1-5-1) was just what the Golden Eagles needed to get into the win column. At halftime LCCC led 6-0 with two goals from Junior Quiroz, two more from Irving Mercado, and one each from Hector Rodriguez and Luis Morillon. The lone goal of the second half came in the 81st minute from Northeastern.

On Sept. 13, LCCC shut out. Central Community College-Columbus (1-5) 2-0 with two second half goals from Morillon and assists from Brandon Flores and Dennis Vivar-Diaz.

During the two games, however, LCCC was given six yellow cards, five in the match-up against Central Community College.
LCCC next plays at home Sept. 19-20 against Northwest College (3-2) and Sheridan College (0-5).
