No. 9 nationally ranked Eagles add more wins

Laramie County Community College’s No. 9 nationally ranked women’s soccer team continues its winning streak to four with two conference wins over the weekend (Sept. 19-Sept. 20).

On Sept. 20 LCCC took on Sheridan College (0-7) at home and got an impressive 8-0 win with four goals being scored a half by the Eagles. Top performer for LCCC was Eden Stoddard, who had three goals and one assist in the blowout.

Also the Golden Eagles saw scoring from Megan Campbell and Sierra Kuno, who both had two goals in the winning effort. Finally, Gabby Garcia also had a goal that went along with two assists in the game.

Goalies Madison Duffy and Jessie Bradley experienced an easy afternoon in which Sheridan attempted four shots on LCCC’s goal with all four saves coming from Duffy.

On Sept. 19 LCCC faced off against Northwest College (1-6) and took care of business in that matchup by winning 3-1. Three straight scores from the Golden Eagles proved too much for Northwest College. Two goals for LCCC came from Brenda Vazquez and Brittney Crank.

Upcoming for LCCC, who are 5-2 overall and 3-1 in conference, is a matchup against Western Nebraska Community College (2-2) at home on Sept. 26. They will face off against No. 11 Utah State University-College of Eastern Utah (6-0-2) at home as well on Sept. 28.
