Upcoming Rodeo

The Laramie County Community College men’s rodeo team earned 4th overall at the Chadron State College rodeo Sept. 16-18. The women’s team didn’t have enough team members to place.

Gage Greer won the steer wrestling with a total time of 9.9 seconds on his two runs; he checked in at 5.1 in the finals. Terrel Vineyard earned fourth for LCCC.

Barrel racer Megan Turek earned third with a time of 34.24 seconds on her two runs; she checked in at 17.23 seconds in the finals. Turek also won the Women’s All-Around Award.

Rodeo coach Beau Clark said LCCC had the most athletes qualify for the short round at a college rodeo in a long time.

There were 12 short-round qualifiers at the Chadron rodeo: calf roper Rance Johnson, steer wrestler Greer, steer wrestler Reed Johnson, steer wrestler and team roper Vineyard, team roper Tate Mathis, team roper Riley Simmons, team roper Cameron Fanning, team roper Brady Joesph, team roper Doug Finny, breakaway roper Bailey Brown, breakaway roper Kerby Anderson, and goat-tier and barrel racer Turek.
