The Laramie County Community College community honored Veterans Day with a flag ceremony outside the Student Services Building.

Members of the LCCC Student Veterans of America raised both the American and Wyoming state flags at 10 a. m. Nov. 11. Veterans George DeBono, Andy Vang, Garrett Mastin and J’Nesse Fetrow appeared in uniform to raise the flags for the LCCC Veterans Day ceremony.

LCCC student and military veteran Garrett Mastin preceded the raising with a speech honoring all those who have served. “Taps” and “To the Colors” were performed by Russ Chapman as the flag was raised.

The ceremony was attended by no fewer than 30 LCCC students, faculty, veterans and family members.

Afterward, guest speakers LCCC trustee Ed Mosher, also of American Legion Post #6, and Al Dyke, representing Veterans of Foreign Wars Post #11453, spoke to the crowd in the student lounge about transitioning from military life to becoming a civilian.

Coffee and doughnuts were provided during the presentation by students of Luanne Gearhart’s “General Psychology” class.
