Rodeo team places in top 10 in Chadron State College rodeo

The Laramie County Community Colleges rodeo men’s team took eighth and the women took seventh in the Chadron State College rodeo on Sept. 21-23.

The team competed in its second rodeo of the season and saw several members of the team make the short go.

The men’s team saw strong performances from Chance Englebert, who placed third in the bareback riding with a 135-point score, and Jonathan Herman, who tied for third in the bull riding with a 63-point score. The men’s team totaled 160 points.

Jesse Pichler took sixth in the barrel racing after qualifying for the short go with a 17.46 score. She then scored an 18.15 in the short go to secure her sixth-place finish.

Pichler’s performance was complemented by Hayli Bonham, who tied for seventh in the breakaway roping with a 2.7 score. The women’s team combined for 85 points. The LCCC rodeo team will head to Sheridan College Sept. 28-30 and will host its home rodeo Oct. 12-14.
