Women's soccer sweeping competition

The overall ninth-ranked Laramie County Community College women’s soccer team finished off a Sept. 14-15 weekend sweep Saturday afternoon with a 3-1 victory over Northwest College.

Samiha Simao of the Trappers struck first, scoring the first goal of the game in the fourth minute. It wouldn’t hold up long, however, as Sayit Mejia put up two goals in the 25th and 33rd minute.

The Eagles pulled ahead for good, adding a third goal from Taylor Hockley in the 42nd minute.

The win followed their solid 11-1 win Friday afternoon over Western Wyoming. After the two wins the Eagles stand 4-1 for the season and will face Western Nebraska Community College Sept. 19 in Scottsbluff, Neb.
